We use this information to register you as a user of the House
Exchange service and to facilitate your use of the service. As
such, some of this information will be made available online to
other users of the service, who may be tenants of local councils or
other registered social landlords who participate in the scheme. We
also use the information you provide in the administration of the
system. We may contact you in connection with the service by
telephone, post or email.
With whom do we share this
information?
We will share your information with other users of the House
Exchange service, in order to facilitate exchanges. Other than this
we will not transfer, disclose, sell, distribute or lease your
personal information to third parties, other than: to the support
teams of the other councils, housing organisations and registered
social landlords who participate in the House Exchange service;
where we have your permission to do so; where we are required to do
so by law. We will not transfer any personal information outside
the EU in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.
How to get copies of or amend the
information we have collected
You may request a copy of the personal information which we hold
about you under the Data Protection Act 1998. To make a subject
request please write to the Data Protection Manager.
If you think any information we have about you is incorrect or
incomplete, please write or e-mail us and we will correct or update
this as soon as possible.
Security
We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In
order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure we have put in
place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to
safeguard and secure the information we collect on
line.

or a search) for 6 months
The following cookie is used to store 'remember me' login
details:
- house-exchange stores auto-login detail for 3 months, this is
renewed each time you log in to the site.
The following cookie is used to provide normal website
functions:
- asp.net_sessionid stores a randomly generated number until you
close your browser

this is likely to adversely affect the functionality of websites
