Put lids on saucepans; food will cook quicker and save you money.
Do not leave the fridge door open longer than necessary and defrost it regularly.
Use your washing machines only when full.
Setting the temperature to 30°C not 40°C will save around £10 per year - most washing detergents work well at this temperature.
Drying clothes outside in the summer months will also save you up to £20 per year.
Only boil as much water as you need, both when cooking and using the kettle.
If there is moisture in the air (for example, from drying clothes or cooking), close the door and open the window or put on a fan.
Once the moisture has gone, then close the window and switch off the fan to keep heat in.
